How we do it

6 steps

We read your current site, your sales material and your reviews, then interview the people who actually talk to your customers. Most copy problems turn out to be message problems.

For SEO work, each page gets a one-page brief built in Ahrefs and Google Search Console: the term it targets, the questions it has to answer, the pages it competes with.

One page: what you say, to whom, in what tone. You sign this off before we draft anything, so revisions argue about sentences, not strategy.

The senior team writes it in Google Docs so you can comment line by line. You met the writers on the first call; there is no content mill downstream.

Included and stated up front. Most projects only need one.

We load the copy into your CMS if you want us to, then watch GA4 and Search Console to see what the words actually did.

Southern Phone

Southern Phone has been a Gudu partner since January 2021, and the engagement now spans advertising, technology, creative and client services. Copy sits inside that: web pages, campaign messaging and ongoing content, written and revised as the offer changes. That is the version of copywriting we rate, because the writer already knows the brand and its numbers rather than working from a one-line brief.

“Their expert planning, creative thinking coupled with their excellent communication skills and on time execution with every results-driven campaign make it a pleasure to work with this team.”

FAQ

Copywriting is writing that gets a reader to act: click, enquire, buy. It covers website pages, ads, emails and product descriptions. Content writing is the neighbouring discipline — built to inform and earn rankings over time. On a website the line blurs, because a good service page has to persuade a person and rank in search at the same time. We write both.

We quote per project, priced from the sitemap: how many pages, how much research each one needs, whether SEO briefs are included. A single landing page costs far less than a 20-page site rewrite, and you see the page-by-page breakdown before approving anything. If scope changes mid-project, we re-quote before writing more, so the invoice never surprises you.

Allow three to four weeks for a typical 8–12 page website: one week for discovery and briefs, one to two for drafting, the remainder for your review rounds. Landing pages and campaign copy move faster. The slowest step is almost always client-side review, so before we start we agree the sign-off path: who reads, and who decides.

Both, and on a website they are the same job. Every page we write for search arrives with its keyword target, title tag, meta description and heading structure already in place, rather than as prose for someone else to optimise. If Gudu runs your SEO, the briefs come from the same team. If another agency does, we work to their briefs without fuss.

Read it aloud: does it sound like a person at your company saying something specific, or could it sit on a competitor’s site unchanged? Check it against the brief: does each page answer the question its visitors arrived with? Then let the numbers rule: enquiries, rankings, engaged time. That is why we set up measurement before we publish rather than afterwards.
